iPad accessories include case, keyboard dock

Accompanying Apple’s announcement of the iPad is news of five first-party accessories. The first is a case, which uses a folio-like design with a flap to protect the screen. Access remains open to all ports, and the cover can be folded back to prop up the device for easier typing.

Also available will be a keyboard dock, making it easier to type and/or to treat an iPad as a desktop system. Because of the position of the tablet’s dock connector however, users can only orient a system vertically. A special button should enable a photo frame mode.

More mundane accessories will include a regular dock and a 10W USB power adapter with a six-foot cable. A camera connection kit should make it possible to import photos directly from a camera, or else insert an SD card. No prices or release dates for the accessories have been mentioned.
