iPhone OS 3.1 Jailbreak and Unlock
Σε συνέχεια του προηγούμενου δημοσιεύματος περί Jailbreak/Unlock του iPhone OS 3.1 ας δούμε τι ανακοίνωσαν μερικοί από τους σημαντικότερους εκπροσώπους της iPhone-κοινότητας.
Ο Sauric, δημιουργός του Cydia, δηλώνει ότι:
If you upgrade to 3.1 you will not be able to unlock your phone at this time, and maybe forever after.
Upgrading your iPhone 3G(S) to 3.1 may make it unable to be jailbroken ever again. It is hoped that in the near future, an exploit will be found for 3.1. If you must upgrade to 3.1 you should only do so if you have an ECID SHSH “on file” with Cydia. It is assumed (but not yet known) that this information will be usable to allow one to downgrade to 3.0 at a later point.
Note: Apple will not allow you to downgrade to 3.0 firmware anymore. They have taken this ability away from us. Users that have agreed to let me hash their keys with Apple and store them will hopefully be able to downgrade to 3.0 soon, but users who did not do this (even if they have saved some information themselves) will have to wait for someone to build something to use that information (my hashes are more complete). Note taht not everyone got these from me that asked :1500 people asked after the window closed. An additional 250 were even told that they got hashed correctly, when they had not(I have fixed the display that it broke).
I wish i could have gotten this service out sooner, but a bunch of issues kept aligning to make it not come together until Sunday 🙁 . From all of us to Apple: we don’t like you either. 🙁

So as of today, Apple has stopped signing 3.0 and 3.0.1 restore files. That means that if you have a 3GS iPhone you cannot restore any firmware other than 3.1. If you are happily jailbroken today and something goes wrong you are pretty much screwed. Here is a summary:
1) If you have an iPhone 3G or 2G, you are fine and should be able to restore.
2) If you have a 3gs, you can only restore 3.1 (and kiss your jailbreak good bye). If you did not get an IBSS/IBEC signature before now and you restore, you may never be able to jailbreak again.
3) If you have an iPhone 3GS and you used Cydia to save your TSS or did purplera1n or similar a while back and saved your IBEC, then you will be able to restore in the near future, but you must wait for someone smart to write a utility that will let you do it. Chances are good that such a utility will come out in a couple days. If you can be patient and wait, do so. No one wrote this utility prior to this because we were not sure if Apple would actually stop signing 3.0 – only that they *could*.
It looks like an exploit has already been found in 3.1 firmware so it sounds like a jailbreak will be possible, but again, hold out for a bit.
Το θέμα του iPhone 3GS Jailbreak φαίνεται να είναι πιο περίπλοκο απ’ ότι θα μπορούσε κανείς να φανταστεί. Σε αυτό το άρθρο θα εξηγήσουμε την όλη κατάσταση με απλό τρόπο ώστε να την κατανοήσουν όλοι οι χρήστες. Να σημειωθεί εκ των προτέρων πως ότι ακολουθεί αφορά μόνο το iPhone 3GS ενώ οι χρήστες του iPhone 3G και EDGE μπορούν να είναι ήσυχοι όσον αφορά το Jailbreak της v3.1.
Οι διαθέσιμες εκδόσεις firmware (τόσο για update όσο και για restore) του iPhone 3Gs παίρνουν ένα είδος ‘έγκρισης’ από την Apple, πριν από την εγκατάσταση τους στην συσκευή. Συγκεκριμένα, πριν από την έναρξη της διαδικασίαςτου recovery, του downgrade ή του upgrade, το iTunes επικοινωνεί με τους server της Apple και στέλνεται ένα πιστοποιητικό ελέγχου. Εάν η αίτηση πιστοποίησης ‘εγκριθεί’, το firmware μπορεί να εγκατασταθεί στην συσκευή, αν όχι το iTunes επιστρέφει ένα σφάλμα.
Από τις 9 Σεπτεμβρίου, και έπειτα από την κυκλοφορία του νέου firmware 3.1, η Apple αποφάσισε να υπογράφει το πιστοποιητικό ΜΟΝΟ για αυτήν την συγκεκριμένη νέα έκδοση του λειτουργικού συστήματος, εγκαταλείποντας πλήρως τα παλιά firmware.
Επομένως, προς το παρόν, είναι αδύνατη:
– Η επανεγκατάσταση του Firware 3.0.1 σε ένα iPhone 3GS, στο οποίο είναι ήδη εγκατεστημένη η v3.0.1
– Το Update από v3.0 σε v3.0.1
– Το Downgrade από v3.1 σε v3.0.1Με άλλα λόγια, σε κάθε περίπτωση που θα χρειαστεί εγκαταστήσετε κάποιο firmware στο iPhone 3GS αυτό είναι ΜΟΝΟ το νέο v3.1
Στο σημείο αυτό έρχεται ο Saurik και δηλώνει ότι ετοιμάζει έναν λεπτομερή οδηγό σύμφωνα με τον οποίο θα μπορεί κάποιος χρήστης να κάνει downgrade από την v3.1 στην v3.0, ωστόσο o οδηγός θα ισχύει μόνο για όσους προνόησαν και χρησιμοποίησαν το Cydia ώστε να αποθηκεύσουν το ECID της συσκευής τους (βλ. ‘This iPhone 3G[S] has an ECID SHSH on file’).
Μέχρι και αυτή την στιγμή δεν υπάρχει κανένα νεότερο από την devTeam στο επίσημο blog τους, ωστόσο στο twitter υπάρχει ένα post από την chronicdevteam το οποίο αναφέρει:
iPhone 3.1GM is still vulnerable 🙂
… ας ελπίσουμε πως θα βρεθεί μία λύση και για τους χρήστες οι οποίοι εσπευσμένα αναβάθμισαν στην v3.1 αψηφώντας τις προειδοποιήσεις:
