Apple today released iPhone OS 3.0.1, addressing an SMS security vulnerability disclosed at yesterday’s Black Hat cybersecurity conference in Las Vegas. The release of iPhone OS 3.0.1 has been expected since a spokesperson for UK iPhone carrier O2 claimed earlier today that a fix for the issue would be coming from Apple on Saturday.
Apple has also posted a security document describing the issue.

Η Apple έδωσε σήμερα το iTunes 8.2.1 μέσο του software update, μέχρι στιγμής το μόνο που ειπώθηκε για το καινούριο update είναι ότι κόβει το sync με το Palm Pre.
Apple released an incremental update to its iTunes software Wednesday afternoon, bringing it to version 8.2.1. The company did not provide any details on changes offered by the new version.
“iTunes 8.2.1 provides a number of important bug fixes and addresses an issue with verification of Apple devices,” was all a release note from Apple stated.
It is available from Apple’s Web site, and also via system update.
The last iteration, version 8.2 of iTunes, was released June 1. It provided support for the iPhone and iPod touch with the 3.0 OS software upgrade. It also included accessibility improvements and bug fixes.

MuscleNerd, an iPhone Dev-Team member writes, “Today’s iTunes 8.2 update changes the way your computer talks to the device. This affects things like QuickPwn and PwnageTool when they try to identify what’s connected. Also, ssh over usb breaks due to same reasons. Fixes are in the works but for now avoid 8.2. (These are probably *not* anti-jailbreak maneuvers, just Apple changing protocols that normally only Apple cares about.)”

Με την αναβάθμιση της Apple για το Mac OS X 10.5.6 έγινε κάποιο λάθος με τα IOUSBFamily kernel extensions. Στο καινούριο update Mac OS X 10.5.7 η Apple λύνει το πρόβλημα αυτό και μπορούμε πια να κάνουμε ξανά jailbreak τα iPhone ή iPod touch μας χωρίς κάποιο hack!
As noted early Apple has just released the new Mac OS X 10.5.7. You can update your Mac via Software Update in the Preferences. When Apple introduce 10.5.6 update. DFU mode was broken and this conflicted with a lot of people who needed to jailbreak their iPhone and iPod Touch. The only solution was to use in some cases a USB Hub or uses the 10.5.5 IOUSBFamily kernel extension.
With the new Mac OS 10.5.7 DFU mode session is fully functional, which is certainly a good thing! We can also synchronize notes between the iPhone 3.0 and iTunes 8.2 via USB. Take a Look at a screenshot by Mark Sfreddo that shows the ability to synchronize notes in iTunes.

Μετά απο αρκετές εβδομάδες που περιμέναμε η Apple έδωσε το μάλλον τελευταίο update για το 10.5 (Leopard) σύστημα της. Επιτέλους τώρα θα μπορούμε να κάνουμε και sync τα Notes απο το iPhone μας (αυτοί που έχουν ήδη το 3.0 firmware).
Επειδή μέχρι στιγμής δεν υπάρχουν πληροφορίες για το αν δουλεύει ή όχι το Pwnage κάλο θα ήταν εσείς που παίζεται με jailbreak και unlock να περιμένετε λίγο πριν αναβαθμίσετε το Macάκι σας!
