Πριν λίγο η Apple κυκλοφόρησε την πρώτη βασική αναβάθμιση για το iOS 6. Το iOS 6.1 είναι από τώρα διαθέσιμο για όλους τους χρήστες και όλες τις συσκευές.

Η νέα έκδοση του iOS 6 φέρνει βελτιώσεις στις iOS συσκευές αλλά και διάφορα bug fixes:

• Καλύτερη υποστήριξη για LTE – συμβατό με περισσότερους φορείς
• Αγορά εισιτηρίων με την βοήθεια του Siri. Δουλεύει μόνο στην Αμερική
• Δυνατότητα για όλους τους χρήστες του iTunes Match να κατεβάζουν μεμονωμένα κομμάτια
• Νέο κουμπάκι για την επαναφορά του Advertising Identifier

Το LTE υποστηρίζει τώρα περισσότερους φορείς και ένας από αυτούς είναι και η Cosmote! Ωστόσο μόνο οι συσκευές iPhone 5, iPad 4 και iPad mini υποστηρίζουν μέχρι στιγμής τα νέα γρήγορα δίκτυα.

Για το Apple TV όπως έχουμε αναφέρει και στο παρελθόν, τώρα υπάρχει η δυνατότητα χρήσης Bluetooth πληκτρολογίου. Σίγουρα κάτι που έλειπε από το Apple TV αφού είναι αρκετά δύσκολο να χρησιμοποιούμε λογαριασμούς διαφορετικούς και να αναγκαζόμαστε κάθε φορά να γράψουμε το password από την επιλογή γραμμάτων που βλέπουμε στην οθόνη μας.

Με το iOS 6.1 η Apple φέρνει ακόμα και ένα νέο API που θα βοηθήσει τους developers να χρησιμοποιήσουν και να ενσωματώσουν την database των χαρτών της Apple μέσα σε διάφορες εφαρμογές του App Store.

Φαίνεται τόσο σημαντική η νέα αναβάθμιση για την Apple που μαζί της δημοσίευσε και ένα νέο δελτίο τύπου που δίνει αρκετές πληροφορίες για το iOS 6.1.

New Version Adds LTE Support For 36 Additional iPhone Carriers Worldwide

CUPERTINO, California—January 28, 2013—Apple® today updated iOS to version 6.1, adding LTE capabilities to 36 additional iPhone® carriers and 23 additional iPad® carriers around the world, so even more iPhone 5, iPad mini and iPad* with Retina® display users can experience ultrafast wireless performance** to browse, download and stream content at blazing fast speeds. To date, iOS users have uploaded over nine billion photos to Photo Stream, sent over 450 billion iMessages and received over four trillion notifications.
